Following a brace of top six finishes yesterday at Imola Aprilia Racing’s Eugene Laverty completed further testing today around the Italian circuit.  Conditions were warmer today so the Irishman made the most of the track-time available completing 61 laps over the course of the test.  His best lap of 1.47.8 was eight tenths of a second quicker than his fastest race lap of yesterday so Laverty leaves content with the progress made.

“Testing went well as I lapped faster than I had managed during the entire race weekend.  I’m still relatively new to the Aprilia so today was a good opportunity to experiment with the geometry of the bike.  We improved the front feeling and this helped a lot on corner entry where I was losing out yesterday compared with the other riders.  We understand better what I need from the bike and this will help in the upcoming races.  Assen is next up and I will be aiming to stand on the podium for the first time this season.”
